Richmond and Chillicothe combined for 31 runs and 33 hits in a game that was decided by — of all things — a sacrifice fly. Reliever Lance Sheets delivered two critical strikeouts in the ninth inning and made sure Cody Campbell’s sacrifice fly stood up as the game winner as the RiverRats outbashed the Paints 16-15 at McBride Stadium. Richmond reclaimed the top spot in the East Division in the process, too. The RiverRats (13-7) hold a half-game advantage ahead of Chillicothe (14-9) with a week to go in the Prospect League’s regular season. “You just have to try and miss bats, honestly,” Sheets said of his approach to Sunday’s hit-happy game that took more than 3 hours to play. “You try to dig deep and either miss the bat or get them to get themselves out.” http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120729/SPORTS/307290014/RiverRats-reclaim-East-lead
