Chillicothe was all business Saturday night. And the Paints’ business was hammering the ball out of McBride Stadium.
Chillicothe homered four times as the Paints knocked Richmond out of first place in the Prospect League’s East Division with a 12-3 victory over the RiverRats.
Kevin Zak started the slugging as he homered in the game’s second at-bat.
Giancarlo Brugnoni quickly followed with a mammoth two-run blast that nearly cleared the tree line in right field.
“They’re a very good hitting team,” said Richmond manager Tyler Lairson. “Pete (Spear, Richmond’s starting pitcher) made good pitches that they hit out of the park. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap. Today they were better than we were.
“At this stretch, it’s tough — frustrating.”
