Derek Trovillion is seeing the ball and it shows.
The Richmond RiverRat has slugged home runs in three of the past four games, including a two-homer performance July 1 at Butler.
He swatted No. 7 overall during Wednesday’s 11-5 win over Chillicothe at McBride Stadium. Trovillion’s blast staked the ’Rats to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning, and they never looked back.
“Triv is the kind of guy where if you make a mistake, he’s going to hurt you,” said Richmond manager Tyler Lairson. “More often than not a pitcher is going to give you a pitch to hit, and if he puts a good swing on it, he’s got a good chance.”
Trovillion is batting .344 with 32 RBIs.
