Boys' Still Improving
September 25, 2013By Chip Gull of Rensselaer Central High School/Middle School
The boy’s soccer team travelled to Hobart on Monday evening to face the Brickies. The Bombers struggled to get possession going in the first half because of the fast field of play on the Astroturf. They were able to get a goal with only 8 seconds left on the clock in the first half on a corner kick leading to a header to tie the score at 1 – 1. After a few adjustments at halftime, the second half belonged to the Bomber’s as the defense tightened up and caused Hobart to hurry their passes.
The Bomber’s came out with a 4-1 victory, thus improving their season record to 11-2-1. It was also the 8th victory in a row for the Bombers. The next game for the Bombers is Saturday when they travel to Carroll.
