8th Grade Bombers Lose Twice in Valpo

The Renssealer Bomber boys 8^th grade basketball team traveled to Ben Franklin in Valpo on Saturday for a 4 team tournament. In the opening game, the Bombers played undefeated and 12-0 Grimmer and lost 58-36. The Bombers were outscored 25-2 in the first quarter and actually outscored Grimmer 34-33 over the final three quarters. Luke Branson led the Bombers with 12 points, Landon Balch had 7. Ben Hillan 5, Grant Myers and Bryce Nesius 4 each and Jonathan Hickman and Ryne Webb had 2.

In the second game the Bombers faced Plymouth who also came into the tournament undefeated at 9-0. The Bombers competed better in this game but lost 48-33. Leading scorers for the Bombers were Landon Balch with 12, Luke Branson with 7, Jonathan Hickman and Ben Hillan with 5 each, and Grant Myers and Bryce Jordan each had a bucket. The two losses drop the Bombers to 5-5 on the season and they are back in action on Monday evening at Winamac.
