JV Volleyball vs Frankfort 8/25/12

The JV Laby Bombers were defeated this morning by Frankfort in three sets with scores of 17-25, 25-13, 4-15.  The girls played extremely well the second set but could not keep it going into the third set.  Maddie Gehring did a great job hitting with 6 kills followed by Uria Gerlach and Jordyn Spangler with 2 kills each.  Uria Gerlach and Jordyn Spangler also did a nice job distributing the ball today dishing out 6 assists and 3 assists.  Bailey Davis led the team in serving with 4 aces and Mackenzi Marohl added 2 aces.  Although this was not one of our best defensive efforts, Sydneigh Berenda and Jordyn Spangler led with 4 digs each while Uria Gerlach and Mackenzi Marohl each added 3 digs.  Overall, we played pretty well today.  We just need to be more consistent from set to set and match to match.  The JV falls to 3-4 on the season and will take on South Newton on Tuesday, August 28th at 6:00 at Rensselaer Central Middle School.
