JV Volleyball vs. West Lafayette 8/16/12

The JV Volleyball team defeated a good West Lafayette team tonight in three sets with scores of 25-14, 21-25, and 15-11.  Despite a few roster alterations due to injuries, the girls were on top of their game.  The team played extrodinary defense led by Sydneigh Berenda and Mackenzi Marohl tallying up 18 and 17 digs.  Bailey Davis also added 4 digs while Maddie Gehring was big at the net with 3 blocks.  Leading the team with a very smart attack was Jordyn Spangler and Maddie Gehring each with 4 kills followed by Sydneigh Berenda and Uria Gerlach with 3 kills each.  Uria Gerlach also added 5 assists and Jordyn Spangler dished out 4 assists.  Lastly, Bailey Davis and Uria Gerlach led the team with tough serving tallying up 2 aces each.  Great win tonight girls!  The JV improves to 1-2 on the season.  The Lady Bombers will be back on the court Monday, August 20 taking on Boone Grove at St. Joseph's College.
