To start of the 2014 track season, the Broncos traveled to Oxford to compete in a fair sized meet. In total 15 schools attended the meet, and our representatives did not disappoint. For the girls team; we had one first place, Sr. Kylee Schunn in shot put. Three second placings, the 4x400 team of M. Nipper, T. Abel, A. Thompson, and T. Thiessen, the 4x800 team of M. Nipper, K. Abel, L. Johnson, T. Thiessen, and Tristin Thiessen also took it in Pole Vault. The third placing went to Kylee Schunn in the 300 hurdles, and Meghan Nipper took home fourth in the 1600. The boys team definitely made a dint in the hardware. In two events the boys took home first, Joey Laham showed them how to do it in the shot put, and the 4x800 team (Z.Thornburg, D. Reeves, K. Cook, S. McCorkle). Second places went to Wyatt Lear in javelin, Garet Johnson in discus, and John Brunner in the 800 meter run. Bradley Johnson (110 hurdles) and Garet Johnson (shot put) both took home third place. Finally the 4x400 (B. Johnson, S. McCorkle, D. Reeves, K. Cook) took 4th, Todd Entz took 5th in high jump, and Keegan Cook finished 6th in the 1600 run. The next track meet was held at Marion High School on Tuesday April 8. Nice Job everyone who competed and good luck this season!
