On Wednesday, February 12th some of the FCCLA members traveled to Lyons to compete in the STAR events. STAR stands for “Students Taking Action and Recognition.” There are over 36 competitive events that students can choose to compete in. Britton Grinstead and Keegan Cook received a Gold, Casey Shinkle received a Silver, Katie Shoffner and Kinsley Cook received a bronze, and Kadie Martin and Caitlin received a bronze. Three of the students will be competing at the state level in April, which will be held at Century II in Wichita. Britton and Keegan will be competing in the ‘Life event planning’ as a team and Casey will be giving his illustrated talk. Kadie Martin will represent Remington High FCCLA on the District office position as she is now the new Vice President for Public Relations for district G. Congratulations everyone! Keep up the hard work, and if you see any of these people be sure to congratulate them on all their amazing results!
