On Saturday October 26th, the Broncos went to the 2013 2A Sub-State at Herington. We played Peabody first and wiped them out with scores of 25-8 and 25-11. Stats for this game are, Madison Janzen served 10/11 with 5 aces. Alyssa Hinz served 12/13 and had 5 blocks. Kylee Schunn served 10/10 with 3 aces. We then sat for two games and personally, I think that was not good for us. We played Chase County after that, the first game was a little rocky, due to the long sit, the score was 25-22. The second game was much better with a score of 25-12. Some stats for this game are Kristyn Wedel having 15 good attacks with 10 kills and 10 blocks. Jasmine Ingalsbe had 23 attacks with 5 kills. Alyssa Hinz served perfect with 13. We were finally entering the championship game against Hillsboro. They were 35-1 and had everything to lose in this game, with us being the underdogs. We knew that it would be a struggle but we could do it if we worked as a team and played our hearts out. Thats exactly what happened, we played our hearts out having nothing to lose. The beginning of the first game was very intense. We stayed with them for the first 12 points or so but they got a lead and won with a score of 15-25. The second game started out the exact opposite. They took us on an 0-8 lead and we got downhearted. We tried staying with them but fell short with a score of 14-25. Some stats from this game are Madison Janzen with 15 good attacks and 5 kills. Deanna Ingalsbe had 10 good attacks and 10 blocks. Coach Janzen says, “ Our team played very well at Sub-State, it was just unfortunate to end with Hillsboro in the Championship match. They are a great team and will do very well in the state tournament.” Remington finishes as Sub-State Runner-Up with a 27-11 record. This has been such a fun year and all you girls are like family to me. Once a team always a team. The seniors will miss everyone so much, good luck next year ladies! It was a fantastic season.
