RMS Wrestling Pins Way Through Season
RMS wrestling began the season with many new faces this year. We had 16 wrestlers on the team, only four of which wrestled for RMS last season. Also, Tim Hesseltine assumed the head coaching duties after the retirement of Randy Hujing , the only head coach this program has had since it’s inaugural season in 1991. Also joining the coaching staff this year was first year assistant Aaron Haselwood.
Members of this years team were: Casey Shinkle, Kevin McKaughan, Blake Thunberg, Leaf Howell, Chase Beckner, Kyle Burns, Jesus DeLaRosa, Jacob Rowland, Braden Allmond, Horacio Martinez, Joel Eck, Bryce Kahle, Mark Wright, Tate Johnson, Joey Lahem, and Brian McQuiston. Team managers this year were Haleigh Johnson and Emma Pescitelli.
The word “proud” is an understatement to describe how Coach Haselwood and myself feel about the members of this team. Every member of the team worked hard this season to make themselves better on the mat, and their progress was very evident with every meet we went to. Middle school wrestling is always a lot of fun for me as a coach because you can see progress so quickly in this sport. Many of our boys had slow starts to the season, but once they figured things out, they quickly became forces to be reckoned with on the mat.
I would like to thank the team for all their work this season. They are a great group of guys to work with! Also thank you to the parents of our team. The drinks and snacks they bring to meets are greatly appreciated!
