Mid-South Conference
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande's Richard Isberner and Shawnee State University's Kevin Fischer are the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly conference honor is the second of the season for Isberner and the first for Fischer.

Isberner scored 11 points last week to earn MSC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil, junior forward scored all of his points in the RedStorm win over St. Catharine College. He amassed season-highs with four goals and three assists in the 17-1 win over the Patriots.

The four-goal performance marks the sixth time this season Isberner has scored multiple goals in a match.

Isberner failed to score in Rio Grande's 3-1 win over University of the Cumberlands.

Isberner continues to lead the Mid-South in both points (42) and goals (18). He ranks fifth in the NAIA in each category. His six assists are tied for fourth in the conference.

Fischer ended his week with 10 saves while helping the Bears to a 1-1 record en route to earning MSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

The Athens, Ohio, senior goalkeeper finished with eight saves in Shawnee State's 2-1 loss to NCAA Division I Marshall (W.Va.) University. Later in the week, Fischer collected two saves on his way to his third shutout of the season.

Fischer ranks second in the Mid-South and 14th in the NAIA this season with 86 saves. His 1.84 goals against average is fifth in the MSC.

Shawnee State is 7-6-1 overall this season and 2-2 in the MSC.
