May 22, 2010
By Walter Price of Barnstable High School

Barnstable High School freshman Dasia Woolery leaped 16' 5" to win the girls long jump at the Old Colony League Outdoor Championship Meet in Taunton.   In doing so Woolery broke the freshman girls long jump record of 16' 1.5" set by Nicole Way in 1992.

BHS sophomore Haley Schachter (see enclosed photo) ran another brilliant sub-62 second race to win the girls 400 meter dash.   Schachter was locked into a strong homestretch battle with a Bridgewater-Raynham athlete until an injury succumbed the Lady Trojan.
