RHS COMPETES AT INDIANA WESLEYAN

Richmond’s Ben Parrish won the long jump Saturday during the Hoosier State Relay indoor qualifier meet at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Parrish went 21 feet, 3/4 inch.

Athletes at six sites Saturday and six sites March 9 attempt to qualify for the March 16 indoor state meet at Indiana Wesleyan. The top 24 qualifying performances in each event qualify.

Richmond finished sixth in the 4x200-meter relay and ninth in the 4x800 relay in the boys meet. Jalen Sleet, Daniel Eckweiler, James Mitchell and Parrish timed 1:39.2 in the 4x200, while Sleet, Sampson Allen, Timothy Stroud and Pedro Feliciano timed 9:12 in the 4x800.

Richmond’s girls placed seventh in the 4x200 relay, with Brooklyn Taylor, Tahsaih Ferguson, Chloe Conley and Lanayea Hogg clocking 1:54.6.

Ferguson also finished eighth in the 55-meter dash in 7.71 seconds.

Richmond hosts Mt. Vernon in an indoor meet Thursday at Tiernan Center.
