Gymnast of the Week

Emily Wong, Nebraska

Jr. – Grand Forks, N.D. – Red River



·         Recorded three first-place finishes and one second-place effort en route
to the all-around title (39.640) in No. 7 Nebraska’s dual meet victory over Michigan
State last weekend

·         Won the all-around title and placed first on the vault (9.90), bars (9.95)
and balance beam (9.925) and second in the floor exercise (9.875)

·         Her score in the all-around and on the bars and balance beam were career
highs

·         Earns the first weekly award of her career

·         Last Nebraska Gymnast of the Week: Jamie Schleppenbach (March 12, 2012)



Co-Event Specialists of the Week

Reema Zakharia, Michigan

Jr. – Miami, Fla. – Coral Gables



·         Tied for second in the floor exercise (9.925) to help No. 2 Michigan’s to
a dual meet victory over Illinois

·         Her score of 9.925 was a career high

·         Collects the first weekly award of her career

·         Last Michigan Event Specialist of the Week: N/A



Sarah Miller, Ohio State

Jr. – Collegeville, Pa. – Methacton



·         Placed first in the floor exercise (9.925) to lead the No. 21 Buckeyes to
a dual meet victory over Iowa

·         Also took first on the balance beam (9.850) and tied for first on the
vault (9.900)

·         Collects her second career Event Specialist of the Week award and 11th
weekly honor overall

·         Last Ohio State Event Specialist of the Week: Sarah Miller (Jan. 7, 2013)



Freshman of the Week

Lindsay Mable, Minnesota

Aurora, Colo. – Eaglecrest



·         Finished first in the all-around (39.325) and placed in the top 10 in
every event to help Minnesota win its quad meet at Penn State

·         Tied for first in the floor exercise (9.875), tied for second on bars
(9.800), placed fifth on the vault (9.825) and tied for eighth on the balance beam
(9.825)

·         Picks up the first weekly award of her career

·         Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Kayla Slechta (March 7, 2011)
