MEN'S BASKETBALL: IU SOUTHEAST 98, IU EAST 96

January 12, 2013
Richmond High School

RICHMOND, Ind. – Kevin Mitchell's two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining made
the difference in the Indiana University East men's basketball team's 98-96 Kentucky
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss against Indiana University Southeast on
Jan. 12 at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.
The Red Wolves (11-7, 1-2) dropped their third game in a row. The NAIA Division II
No. 15 Grenadiers (15-3, 5-0) won their ninth straight.
"I'm sure the frustration will kick in later," said IU East coach Mark Hester. "We
should have found a way to win the game."
Senior guard Marcus Isaac (Indianapolis, Ind./Purdue University North Central) had
tied it for IU East with one free throw with 6.2 seconds remaining. There were three
lead changes in the final 80 seconds.
IU East had a 30-footer at the buzzer for the win, but the shot went wide right.
IU East got a monster game from sophomore guard Huston Clark (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo
High School), who scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Clark tied the school
record for double-doubles in a season with eight.
Isaac scored 19 and sophomore guard Tyler Fangman (Cold Spring, Ky./Beechwood High
School) added 18.
IU Southeast got 24 points from Terence Billups.
IU East plays at KIAC opponent Cincinnati Christian University on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m.
