MEN'S BASKETBALL: ASBURY 76, IU EAST 60

January 9, 2013
Richmond High School

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team fell 76-60
against Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Asbury University on
Jan. 9 at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.
The Red Wolves (11-6, 1-1) shot .306 from the field, the lowest single-game shooting
percentage in the program's NAIA history.
"Bad offense," said IU East coach Mark Hester. "They got physical on the perimeter
and we've got to learn to handle it."
Asbury took control of the game when IU East endured a cold spell of two points in
five minutes late in the first half.
IU East would get within seven with seven minutes remaining, but Asbury scored 16 of
the next 21 points to take its biggest lead at 76-58.
"It was just one of those nights," said freshman guard Nick Bollenbacher (Cedar
Lake, Ind./Hanover Central High School), who contributed 11 points. "It was cold
outside, and we had cold shooting inside."
The bright spots were a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds from sophomore
guard Huston Clark (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo High School) and IU East’s team total of
nine blocked shots, which tied the school record.
Adam Delph led five players in double figures for Asbury with 14 points.
IU East hosts No. 15 IU Southeast on Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Richmond High School
Tiernan Center.
