Men's Basketball - Joel Scudder, College of Mount St. Joseph

College of Mount St. Joseph sophomore guard Joel Scudder (Greendale,
Ind./South Dearborn) averaged 24.0 points and set the school's single-game
record for three-point field goals made last week and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the
Week.  The sophomore scored a game-high 22 points in MSJ's 70-53 loss at
Wilmington, connecting on seven of his 14 shots from the field.  Scudder
followed that performance with a career-high 26 points in a 60-48 win at
Manchester Saturday, connecting on a school-record eight-of-15 from behind
the arc.  For the week, the sophomore was 16-for-30 (53.3%) from the field
and 11-for-23 (47.8%) from three-point range.  Mount St. Joseph (5-3, 4-0
HCAC) will face Franklin & Marshall and Wooster at the Don Lane Classic in
Lexington this week.

Women's Basketball - Erynn Meiklejohn, Manchester University

Manchester University's Erynn Meiklejohn (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia)
recorded a double-double in a win over Mount St. Joseph Saturday and has
been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball
Player of the Week.  The junior forward tallied her third career
double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Spartans earned a 61-59
win over the Lions Saturday afternoon.  Meiklejohn hit the game-tying and
eventual game-winning free throws with 18 seconds left to lift the black and
gold into third place in the HCAC standings.   Manchester (3-5, 3-1 HCAC)
will face Trine this week before traveling to California for a pair of
contests over the holiday break.
