Men's Basketball - Julian Strickland, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology




Rose-Hulman junior guard Julian Strickland (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) led the
Engineers to a sweep of Rensselaer Polytechnic and Milwaukee School of
Engineering in the All-Engineers Classic and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  The
junior scored 23 points with seven rebounds on 10 of 16 shooting in RHIT's
79-45 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic and added a team-high 10 points in a
55-28 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering.  For the week, Strickland
averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 54% from the field, 4-for-6
from behind the arc, and 3-for-3 at the foul line.  Rose-Hulman (2-0, 0-0
HCAC) will travel to Carroll (Wis.) on Tuesday.




Women's Basketball - Kelsey Ploof, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology


Rose-Hulman's Kelsey Ploof (Noblesville, Ind./H.S.) led the Engineers to a
1-1 mark at the Emory Invitational over the weekend and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the
Week.  The junior tallied 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in a 59-56
loss to Piedmont and followed that performance with 16 points and 11
rebounds in a win over Spelman.  Ploof averaged 18.5 points and 14.5
rebounds per game, while adding five steals, two assists, and one blocked
shot.  Rose-Hulman (1-1, 0-0 HCAC) will travel to Webster Tuesday evening.
