VOLLEYBALL
GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The Indiana University East split a pair of matches on the opening
day of the Georgetown College Boneyard Brawl on Oct. 26.
The 15th-ranked Red Wolves started the day with a 25-23, 25-20, 25-17 loss against
ninth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University (29-1).
"Absolutely disappointing," Was IU East coach Charlie Brown's assessment. The Red
Wolves had an 11-match winning streak snapped.
IU East (35-3) bounced back for a 25-21, 25-13, 25-23 win against Lindsey Wilson
College (23-9). Lindsey Wilson swept No. 35 Taylor University a few hours before
facing IU East.
"Licking our wounds and back to the grind tomorrow," Brown said.
The Red Wolves face Indiana Institute of Technology at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 and then
conclude the tournament with a match against Freed-Hardeman University at 1:30 p.m.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
DAYTON, Ohio - The Indiana University East women's tennis team reached the Kentucky
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament semifinals with a 5-3 win against
Saint Louis College of Pharmacy on Oct. 26.
The nine-team conference tournament was moved indoors to Dayton Center Courts due to
inclement weather in the Richmond area.
The No. 4 seed Red Wolves improved to 6-10. The No. 5 seed Eutectics finished 4-5.
IU East faces reigning KIAC champion and No. 1 seed Indiana University Southeast
(10-5) at 9 a.m. in the semifinal round on Oct. 27. The championship match is at 1
p.m.
The semifinals and finals are scheduled for Glen Miller Park, but will be played at
Dayton Center Courts in the event of inclement weather.
Redshirt junior No. 1 singles player Paige Froman (Rushville, Ind./Ball State
University) and junior No. 2 singles player Cheltsi Hinners (Centerville,
Ind./Centerville High School) both won in singles and teamed up for a win at No. 1
doubles.
Freshman No. 4 singles player Chelsea Helms (Centerville, Ind./Centerville High
School) won her match to clinch the team win for IU East.
This is IU East's first opportunity to host the KIAC tournament.
