THE TIGERS ARE GOING TO SERIES

Max Scherzer yielded one run and allowed two hits while striking out 10 over the first 5 1/3 innings as Detroit swept the Yankees with an 8-1 win in game four of the ALCS.

Seven Tiger regulars collected two or more hits, with Andy Dirks going 3-for-5 and both Jhonny Peralta and Omar Infante ending 2-for-5 with two runs scored.  Delmon Young, named the ALCS Most Valuable Player after finishing the series by going 2-for-4 with an RBI single.
