Delmon Young hit a solo homerun and Miguel Cabrera had an RBI double as Detroit moved to within one  game of the World Series with a 2-1 win over New York in the ALCS.

Justin Verlander gave up just a pair of singles to Ichiro Suzuki and Eduardo Nunez ended the right-hander's string of 23 straight scoreless innings with a homerun in the 9th.
