Home » Boys' Soccer NewsRICHMOND DOMINATES MUNCIE CENTRALSeptember 26, 2012 Richmond High SchoolSeven seniors on the Richmond High School boys soccer team saw action on Freeman Park for the last time Tuesday. It was the Red Devils’ final home game of the season, and with this year’s sectional at Rushville, they wanted to go out with a bang on the home grass. Not too bad. Joel Okafor had a hat trick, Chris Szymanowski scored two goals and Sam Rutledge, Mitch Ahaus and Quinn Smith each contributed one as the Red Devils trounced the visiting Muncie Central Bearcats 8-0. “It’s sad knowing that this is our last game, but coming out with an 8-0 win, it just makes it a good way to end it,” said Szymanowski, one of the seven seniors. The victory puts the Red Devils at 5-1 in the North Central Conference, a year after they won just once in league play. Richmond, Marion, New Castle and Huntington North all went into Tuesday tied atop the NCC with 4-1 records. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120925/HSSPORTS/309250016/RHS-dominates-8?nclick_check=1
