NEW CASTLE, Ind. – Richmond opened NCC play with a 25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23 win over Kokomo before falling to Huntington North 25-11, 32-34, 25-15, 25-19.

Sommer Lewis led the Red Devils (9-12, 1-1) with 24 kills on the day while Kiana Claiborne had 19.

Hannah Ball had 54 assists.

“Overall, they got off to a good start and played really well,” Red Devils coach Matt Fisher said. “Huntington North has gotten a lot better and I think NCC in general is a lot deeper I was happy to get out and hopefully it stays competitive throughout the year.

The Red Devils play Tuesday at Connersville.
