Home » Girls' Golf NewsDevils take aim at another titleSeptember 14, 2012 Richmond High SchoolRichmond takes aim at a sixth straight sectional championship in girls golf this Saturday. The Red Devils will have plenty of challengers. RHS attempts to defend its title at Highland Lake as the annual sectional tees off at 10 a.m. “There’s Union County, Hagerstown, Connersville and Rushville. All of them can get out, so we have to play really well in the sectional,” said RHS coach Ron Murphy. “Hopefully (we) do it.” The Red Devils’ sectional winning streak dates back to 2007. The last non-Richmond team to win this sectional was Union County in 2006. The Patriots have played well at Highland this season, winning three tournaments there, including the Tri-Eastern Conference meet last Saturday. “I’m excited,” said UC senior Ryleigh Waltz. “We’re going to have some good competition and may the best team win.” The full field competing at Highland includes Lincoln, Centerville, Connersville, Hagerstown, Knightstown, New Castle, Richmond, Rushville, Tri High and Union County.
