Seniors lead perfect RHS

Haley Owens and Erin Ingram grew up playing golf at Forest Hills Country Club.

On Thursday, it turned out to be a perfect place for them to end their regular-season dual-match career and celebrate Senior Night.

The senior trio of Owens, Ingram and Ashley Mills were celebrated as they helped the Red Devils finish off a perfect dual-match season with a 188-209 victory over Wayne County opponent Hagerstown.

Richmond improved to 10-0 in the process, and although Red Devils coach Ron Murphy is content, he knows there is more season to play for his team’s goals to be accomplished.

“That’s not bad,” he said. “It’s halftime, nine-hole matches, they’re just practice, real practice against someone else and 10-0, that’s OK, but it’s invitationals that count.”

Ingram led the way with a 41, while her playing partner Owens added a 42 and Mills carded 51. Angela Roggero added 54, Kayla Owens 55 and Mackenzie Spurrier 66.
