Home » Boys' Soccer NewsDEVILS WIN 4-0 OVER KOKOMOAugust 26, 2012 Richmond High SchoolOn a picture-perfect late summer Saturday, Richmond’s boys soccer Red Devils continued the winning momentum. Senior Chris Szymanowski netted two headers on his 18th birthday and RHS tacked on two more scores to earn a 4-0 Freeman Park victory over Kokomo. It was a second straight lopsided home-field win for RHS, and by a combined score of 10-1. Last Thursday, the Devils rolled over Franklin County 6-1. And this one was only a little bit closer, as the home team broke the match open after intermission and mostly controlled play throughout. The Wildkats had virtually no opportunities, with those being a few corner kick chances, and never came close to really netting a goal against the combined goalkeeping efforts of Drew Barrett (starter) and Russell Zimmerman (the last 15 minutes of play). Senior Andy Stevens, who handles much of the corner kick duty, set up the first three Richmond scores. His well-placed corner kicks were headed in by Szymanowski at 23:18 at the first half, then early in the second half for a 2-0 RHS lead. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120825/HSSPORTS/308250027/Devils-open-NCC-play-win
