Devils bring home invitational title

Richmond claimed first place in the nine-team Ben Davis Invitational at South Grove on Saturday as the Red Devils tallied 331 as a team.

Guerin Catholic was second with 338, followed by Plainfield’s 354.

Richmond’s Erin Ingram earned medalist honors as she fired the low score of 73. Haley Owens shot 80 for RHS, Kayla Owens 88 and Ashley Mills 90.

“We’ve been getting second place, so that’s a big one,” RHS coach Ron Murphy said of the invitational victory. “Hopefully there will be more.”
