Home » Football NewsRed Devils get their first taste of Friday nightAugust 11, 2012 Richmond High SchoolRichmond got its first taste of football on Friday nights for 2012. The Red Devils hosted Pendleton Heights for a scrimmage at Lyboult Field, one week before RHS officially kicks off its season with an Aug. 17 trip to East Central. “I thought we executed well,” said RHS senior Skyler Storms. “There were some mistakes, but nothing we can’t clean up.” First-year Richmond coach Matt Holeva saw several positives, including a passing game led by senior quarterback Justyn Curtis and an offensive line that showed promise with its pass blocking. The Red Devils have been a proficient passing team the last few years, and Holeva is determined that Richmond be balanced on offense. “We were trying to work some depth in there and this and that, and I think the run game will come,” he said.
