Devils conquer Forest Hills

Erin Ingram has been playing golf at Forest Hills Country Club since she was 4 years old.

That still doesn’t make it much easier for the Richmond High School senior.

The Red Devils took on the challenging course for the first time this season on Thursday, but pulled through with an 18-hole, 388-456 victory over the visiting Connersville Spartans.

“We won 388-456, but that’s irrelevant,” said RHS coach Ron Murphy. “When we play Forest Hills, it’s not about the scores, it’s about being better and you have to be up and down and put the ball in play, and that’s why we’re out here.

“It’s a tough golf course, but it will make Highland (Lake golf course) even easier, so that’s my philosophy. That’s why we’re out here.”
