Home » Football NewsLeading the Devils' directionAugust 5, 2012 Richmond High SchoolThere are five new football coaches this fall in the North Central Conference. One of those coaches is at Richmond — but Matt Holeva is no stranger to the Red Devils, or their football program. Holeva was a longtime assistant at RHS when he left in 2004 to become head coach of the nearby Centerville Bulldogs. He remained at Richmond as a teacher. In eight seasons with Centerville, he built the Bulldogs into a Tri-Eastern Conference power. Now, he aims to help give the Red Devils a fresh start after two sub-.500 seasons. “I like coach Holeva. He’s a good coach. He’s making us work hard,” senior Skyler Coleman said earlier this summer. “He’s making it fun and we’re enjoying it so far.” Before Holeva’s eight years as head coach at Centerville, he spent 15 years as a Red Devil assistant. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120804/HSSPORTS01/308040018/Leading-Devils-direction
