Red Devils ready to tee off soon for girls golf season

Richmond’s girls golf team will hit the ground running this Monday.

The year’s first high school event, the RHS Invitational, tees off then at Highland Lake. It’s the first of four straight tournaments for the host Red Devils.

“We’ve got to work hard,” said RHS coach Ron Murphy. “If we work hard, we’ll be OK.”

The work starts at Highland, but continues Tuesday at New Castle, Wednesday at Union County and Thursday at Muncie Central.

The Red Devils have Friday off, but then are right back on the course Saturday for the Greensburg Invitational.

Richmond also travels Aug. 6 to the Trojan Classic at the Legends in Franklin.

“We have a lot of kids who are new. We just have to get them experience,” Murphy said.
