HANOVER, Ind. — The Earlham College men's tennis team won for the 10th straight time
on Wednesday as the Quakers defeated Hanover College 9-0.
The 10th win ties an Earlham record for most consecutive victories in an academic
year during the NCAA era that was set in 2002-03. The school record for most wins in
a row is 11 and that covers the end of 2001-02 and the start of 2002-03.
It was also the sixth victory in a row for Earlham in the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference as the Quakers (13-1, 6-0) maintained the top spot in the

The Quakers began the contest by sweeping the doubles competition from the Panthers

Hank Levin and Anton Bartashevich defeated Brandon Ramsey and Matt Strandmark 8-1 at
Maisey and Andrey Gavrilov beat Kyle Bohnert and Steven Gilliam 8-0 at No. 2, while
Scott Lawrence and Nabil Parkar won 8-3 over Derek Zimmers and Austin Veach at No.
In singles action, Levin defeated Ramsey 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1. Bartashevich took care
of Bohnert 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2.
At No. 3, Gavrilov defeated Max Erlewein 6-2, 6-1 and Maisey beat Strandmark 6-0,
6-1 at No. 4.
Lawrence got by Yizhe 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, while David Bluestein won 6-3, 6-1 over
Devon Sharpe at No. 6.
The Quakers entertain Indiana University-East Thursday on the EC Courts at 4:30 p.m.
The next HCAC affair for the Quakers in Saturday at Manchester College at 11 a.m.
Earlham's home conference match with Transylvania University has been changed to
Wednesday, April 25. The start time is expected to be at 4:30 p.m.
