Home » Girls' Basketball NewsSwenson Named New Head CoachJune 22, 2011 Champlin Park Girls BasketballDoug Swenson has been elevated to the postion of head girls' basketball coach at Champlin Park High School. Swenson coached in the Rebel program for the past three seasons as a 9th grade coach and most recently as the junior varsity coach. Coach Swenson's JV team won the Northwest Suburban Conference championship last winter posting an outstanding 22 and 2 overall record. Born in the Twin Cities metro area, Swenson spent most of his school aged years in Rapid City, South Dakota. He returned to the metro as a student and track athlete at the University of Minnesota. Coach Swenson has been a PE teacher and track coach in the Anoka-Hennepin district for four years in addition to his duties with the Rebel girls' basketball program.
