Home » Football NewsRaytown South 30 - Belton 0October 12, 2011 Raytown South High SchoolThe JV Cardinals where able to shut out the Belton Pirates on their way 30-0 victory on Monday night. This game was a team victory as every facet of the game contributed. The offense came out moving the ball on the first drive and although it later stalled, the next drive would not as Samson Tucker would find Deangelo Brewster on a 40 yard fade for a touchdown. After that the offense rolled with 24 points in the first half on some good blocking from the lineman and therefore nice running from the tailbacks with a few sprinkled pass play in between to keep the defense honest. In the second half the offense was able to put one more in the endzone to total 30 points for the game. The defense came out strong from the get go. Allowing very few yards in the first half and adding some offense to their great defense with a 45 yard fumble recovery from Eric Strickland with the help of a good block from Charles Walker. The defense beat up on the pirates all game long and had some players wanting the game to end sooner than later. The defense capped off their great performance with a field goal block to keep hold of their shut out. Another great win for the cardinals.
