Home » Boys' Soccer NewsVarsity Soccer gets big win over William ChrismanSeptember 17, 2010 By Ryan Murdock of Raytown South High SchoolThe Raytown South men's soccer team defeated William Chrisman on Thursday night 1-0 in the their conference opener. It was a huge victory for the Cardinals as they finally were rewarded for their hardwork. After dominating the game for the first 30 minutes, the Cardinals finally got on the scoreboard when Kyle Turley put home a left-footed shot from about 20 yards in the 32nd minute. The second half saw the Bears surging for the tying goal but terrific defense and some great saves at the end of the game by Alberto Beltramello preserved teh 1-0 win. Two players really stood out in the performances on Thursday. Trey Sprick was a dominating presence in the center midfield and Tylor Kraus was tireless worker on the outside flank. The entire team should be proud of their effort. The Cardinals are now 1-0 in conference play and will play again Tuesday at Fort Osage and at home against Winnetonka on Thursday, both games are conference contests. Come out and support your Cardinals next Thursday!!
