Ray-South soccer pastes Liberty North in Opener

Finally!  The Raytown South boys soccer team won its opener for the first time in 4 years on Saturday morning by defeating Liberty North 3-1 in the Liberty Kick-Off classic.  Raytown South scored just 8 minutes into the game as Irvin Ortiz slipped one past the keeper off an assist from Kyle Turley.   The game stayed 1-0 all the way to the half.  Liberty North tied the scored early in the second half before the Cardinals pulled away with goals from Tommy Belshe and another strike from Irvin Ortiz. 

The Cardinals will continue the tournament on Monday with a game against Blue Springs at 5p.m. on Aug 30th.  Way to go Cards!!
