Home » Girls' Soccer NewsSoccer Makes it 4 in a row!!!May 25, 2011 By Ryan Murdock of Raytown South High SchoolRaytown South defeated North Kansas City on Thursday and moved to 9-8 on the season. The Lady Cards now have a 4 game winning streak going and will look to make it 5 in a row tonight when they host Belton. Raytown South scored all 4 goals in the first half and all 17 girls played at least 30 minutes. South opened the scoring just 8 minutes into the game on a put back by Heather Howard. It was Howard's 4th goal of the season as she continues to improve each and every game. Ashley Chandler netted the second goal of the game after a good build-up from the midfield and Amy Mack made it 3-0 on a goal off a restart. Mack was in the right place at the right time to tap home the goal after a huge scramble around the goalie. Chandler finished the scoring off with a terrific strike from about 22 yards that found the upper right corner of the goal. South missed chances to extend the lead in the second half highlighted by Bailey Burt's near goal in the 65th minute. Raytown South will play Belton on Friday, May 7th at 6:00p.m. Next week the Cardinals will conclude the regular season with games at Fort Osage on Monday (4:00p.m.), home against Winnetonka on Tuesday (6:00p.m.) and at home against Truman on May 13th (4:00p.m.) The game against Truman is also Senior Night and we want to send the seniors out on a good note. We hope to see you there. Go Team!
