FORGET ABOUT IT!
September 5, 2013By Redd Rider of Raider Sports Network
One might think that this year's version of Raider Football might put a lot of emphasis on a new school record 61 points scored last week against county rival Holly Pond.
Redd Rider has one thing to say....."FORGET ABOUT IT!" It's time to focus on this week's game and not put the past in charge of your future.
This writer is quite certain that Sebastien Fendley, Jerod McClure, Alex Cofer, Justin Turner and the entire Raider squad have done just that. As Coach Moss and his staff prepared the game plan for this week, we are extremely confident that last week's 61 points did not come into play. Instead the focus has been on the ins and outs of the Bulldogs and what the Raiders will have to do in all three facets of the game to remain undefeated.
This game is, after all, the first region contest of the year.
Remembering last season's contest in Hanceville we are reminded of just how much of a slobberknocker the Raiders and Bulldogs have when they tangle.
No doubt the Raiders are eager to get the region started with a bang. Certainly they have all the firepower they need to bring it on offense and they showed what they are capable of on special teams.
The key to this game could very well be defense. Which team wants to stop the other team more?
This writer can't wait for tomorrow night's game! Come out and support your Raiders at 7:00 pm at James W. Shabel Stadium.
A victory would give the young men a ton of confidence for back to back road games after this. Good Hope travels to Winston County and Hamilton. Both are region games.
