Softball benefit for Mark Izzo

November 13, 2012
By Stephanie Gilbert of Park Vista Community High School

Hello Cobras!
Mark Izzo is one of our own Park Vista HS students, as well as one of our Special Olympics Athletes. He was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, and is currently enduring chemotherapy.

On December 7th, from 5-8PM, Park Vista High School's, Special Olympics club will be hosting a 'softball extravaganza'  to support and benefit Mark and his family. We are going to have a softball game where our own PVHS teachers/administrators will be competing against the student's Special Olympics softball team, the 'Palm Beach Demolition'. There will be food and snack vendors, as well as special activities taking place that evening as well.

Tickets for the event are $5, and children under the age of 12 are free. You can buy tickets at the event, or see Mrs. Gilbert in 4-205, or Ms. Ladner in 4-105B.

We hope that you can join us, and help to make this a successful and fun benefit for Mark and his family!

Thank you in advance for your support,
Mrs. Stephanie Gilbert and Ms. Jeanne Ladner, Special Olympics Coaches
