Patriots wound the Warriors

February 14, 2014
By psouth hoops of Parkway South Basketball

On Friday night, the Patriots traveled to Fox to compete against another Suburban West opponent.  Fox brought the energy the first quarter.  The Warriors outworked the Patriots winning the first quarter by three points.  The Patriots adjusted their defense to help slow down Fox and they did just that.  The Patriots trapped everywhere forcing several turnovers that lead to South winning the second quarter by nine points.  The third quarter was much of the same for the Patriots.  South was able to keep Fox off balanced with their deffense.  In addition to that, Jeremy Verges hit several big three pointers to push the lead.  Much of the nights scoring came from Fox's Jake Drysdale who finished with 26 points and South's Matt Highsmith who finished with 29 points.  South finished the Warriors 75-64.
The Patriots will host the Lancers this Tuesday at 6pm for another conference battle.  The Lancers are on top of the conference standings and South is just behind them with only one loss.
