Buzzer Beater Beats South

In the second game of the MICDS Tournament, South had the lead from midway through the second quarter until just .9 seconds left in the game and lost 52-51 to the Clayton Greyhounds.  The Patriots (3-4) trailed early 9-3 and 11-9 after one quarter.  They started to heat up on both ends of the floor as they forced turnovers after trapping Clayton and went into halftime up 30-22 as Luke Bakula made a three pointer at the buzzer as teams went into the locker room.  Bakula stayed hot in the third quarter as he scored 6 of his team high 18 points and the Patriots led 45-38 after three quarters.  However, the fourth quarter was not kind to the Patriots, they only scored six points all before the 5:00 mark.  They held a 51-44 lead at that point but costly turnovers and a missed free throw set up the game winning three pointer in the corner by Nick Bax, one of his four three pointers and three of his game high 21 points.  South committed a season high 18 turnovers and fell to 2-2 after leading after three quarters.  South is off till January 7th when they play at Hazelwood West.
