Patriots get first win

South gets its first win of the 2013-14 season by defeating Parkway North 71-65.  Neither team could find much rhythm scoring during the first quarter.  The Patriots trailed 11-10 at the end of the first.  Opening the second quarter, South hit some tough shots from Chris Dandridge who finished shooting 50% from the field.  South went on to close the quarter with a last second steal and lay-up by Jeremy Verges who finished the game with a career high 28 points.  The third quarter went back and forth with strong defense until the last minutes of the quarter.  The Vikings went on an 8-0 run to end the third quarter and to open the fourth.  South continued to fight through the adversity to win the quarter by nine points and the game by six points.  The Patriots shot 50% from the field to help them acquire their first victory of the young season.
