The season came to an end in the opening game of districts against Lafayette when the Lancers won 56-55 Monday night.  The game started well l for South as they took a and early 9-3 lead and went in at half time up 29-18.  Two quick three’s to start the second half got Lafayette back in the game and at the end of the third quarter Lafayette led 41-39.  The Patriots kept battling and led 55-52 when Cam Collier stole the ball and went in for a layup with under 2:00 left.  South was unable to control a rebound and when the ball went out of bounds, a technical foul was called and the Lancers made both free throws to go down 55-54.  The next position, PS was called for a foul and when both free throws were made again, the Lancers went up 56-55.  A last second drive to the basket by Courtland Rogers was blocked and the time ran out on the season.  South had four players in double figures, Jeremy Verges had 15 points, Chris Dandridge 11, Rogers 10 and Matt Highsmith had his second double-double in as many games as he had 10 points 10 rebounds.
