South loses first conference game since 2010-2011 season.
South entered Friday's conference game 1-0 in conference play and were eager to keep the undefeated streak going. South went undefeated last season in a tough Suburban West Conference and was hoping to do the same this season. Marquette had other plans for South as they won 58-38. Once again, the first quarter was tough for South losing 19-7. South also shot 16% from the field during the first quarter, which would not get much better for South as the game went on. Marquette continued to dictate the pace of play as they lead 34-18 at halftime. South continuing to stay cold from the field and lost the second half by four points, which led to the final score of 38-58. South shot 22% from the field and was led by Jeremy Verges' 13 points. South will continue conference play on Tuesday playing the Panthers of Mehlville followed by the Eureka Wildcats on Friday.
