Desmet snaps South's seven game win streak

TOWN AND COUNTRY • The Parkway South student section had aimed its vitriol at the De Smet junior duo of Nolan Berry and Jimmy Barton for much of their Ameritime Classic semifinal boys basketball game Wednesday night. 

But with 1 minute 17 seconds remaining and Berry at the free-throw line putting the finishing touches on a 62-46 victory, one fan relented.

"Nolan, you got me," the fan said. "You played a good game so far."

Berry, a 6-foot-8 junior forward who has committed to Butler, was impressive enough to win over opposing fans at Missouri Baptist University. He finished with a game-high 21 points on eight-of-10 shooting, along with 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.  

"Give them a lot of credit," Berry said of Parkway South. "They came out with a game plan for us, and they executed in the
