PRATTVILLE 2011 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE NOT COMPELTE

LIONS HOPE TO ADD OPENER AND 10TH GAME

Jamey DuBose, head football coach and Athletics Director has announced a tentative 2011 football schedule for the Prattville Lions.

"We have our schedule for our region games (eight); we still don't know whether the Carver game will be on Thursday or Friday night at Cramton Bowl,

"Also the game with St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is not in stone.  There are a number of details to be worked out before the contracts can be signed. It is to be part of a double-header.  Hoover is playing South Panola (Batesville, Mississippi) in the second game.  South Panola was ranked number one in the nation last year,

"St. Thomas Aquinas was ranked number two last year.  If the games are played that four strong teams playing in Birmingham, that would give Prattville a lot of exposure,

"The tenth game is up in the air.  We have two schools who have contacted us, one is Cocoa, Florida and the other is Godby High from Tallahassee, Florida.

"Ronnie Cottrell (former University of Alabama assistant coach) is the head coach at Godby and he called and wanted to play us.  We are still talking.  The Cougars went 5-7 last season,

"Cocoa high School won the class 3A state championship in Florida going 14-0,

"Right now I don't know if I want to play a tenth game, being so near the beginning of the playoffs," Dubose added.
