LIONS HOLLON PARTICIPATES IN ALL-STAR WEEKEND

June 30, 2014
By Stacy Mills of Prattville High School

Rhett Hollon, rising senior infielder for Coach Jody Colvin's Prattville Lions, was recently selected to participate in the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association 14th Annual All-Star Event of Instruction, Workouts & Games held June 17 - 19 at Troy University. Six teams of twenty players were chosen from scheduled workouts held statewide. Teams were picked by Professional Scouts and/or Community College Coaches. The All-Star Event teams were coached by Community College Coaches from around the state. At each workout players were timed in the 60, threw from their positions, took eight cuts on the field, and pitchers threw seven pitches in the bull pen. A pro-style workout format was followed. Upon completion of the Troy All-Star Event, Hollon was one of 40 players selected to represent Alabama in the 3rd Annual Team Alabama, Georgia & Tennessee Team Workouts and Games held June 23-26 at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, GA. In Lawrenceville, Hollon had the opportunity to workout and play games in front of more than 50 professional scouts and college coaches.
