THOMPSON TOO MUCH FOR LADY LIONS

THOMPSON WARRIOR RUN BY PRATTVILLE LADY LIONS 65-19
The visiting Lady Warriors from Alabaster’s Thompson High School took the opening tip Friday night at Powell Gymnasium and breezed to a quick 6-0 run.
After Prattville’s Tynesha Adams tossed in a deuce from the lane and Alexis Nowak pop a two pointer from the corner the Lady Warriors ended the first period with an 18-0 run for a 24-4 first quarter lead.
The talented Warriors (18-5, 5-1) took the run into the second period with an 8-0 run and a 32-4 lead. The 26-0 run finally ended when Dazhanae Legette hit a three pointer from top of the key with 4:05 left in the first half.
Prattville added another trey this one from Adams to end the half trailing, 38-10.
With the victory Thompson clinched a share of the Class 6A Area 7 championship with a 5-1 record. Thompson's only area defeat came at the hands of the Wetumpka Indians. A coin toss will take place Monday, January 27 at Prattville High School to determine the seeds for the Area tournament.
Thompson’s Lauren Black got the Warriors rolling in the first quarter hitting three consecutive treys during the big quarter. She ended her afternoon’s work with14-points to lead all scorers after adding one more trey and a 2-pointer.
Legette was high scorer for Prattville with 7-points, Alexis Nowak tossed in four, while Tynesha Adams and Tashauna Houser both connected on long treys.
Black’s 14-points was tops for the Warriors while Myesa Pelton and Janese Richardson each added ten points
