LADY INDIANS HAND PRATTVILLE AREA LOSS AT HOME
Wetumpka’s Zamaria Clark and Adrianne Armstrong combined for 38 points Friday night January 10 to lead the Lady Indians to a 66-43 win over the Prattville Lions at Powell Gymnasium.
Wetumpka opened the game with a 6-0 run as Clark tossed in two buckets under the nets and Armstrong added two charity tosses. By the close of the opening quarter Wetumpka led 12-4.
Prattville’s Alexis Howard hit a bucket from the lane and sank a free throw, while Aalilyah Holmes added one free throw accounting for the Lions four points.
Wetumpka opened the second period with another 12-4 run. By half time the Indians had built a 33-17point lead and coasted to the Area 7 Class 6A victory.
Wetumpka continued it’s relentless up tempo game and by the close of the third period held a 25 point margin. The Indians largest lead came midway of the fourth period with a 30-point margin.
Zamaria Clark paced the scoring parade for Wetumpka with 24, followed by Armstrong with 14 and Alyshia Clark with nine points.
Aaliyah Holmes led Prattville with 14-poins, while Alexis Howard added eight.
